Road Tripping West USA. Day 8

Day 8

The Yosemite View Lodge was our home for this stop.  It is a quaint, although older lodge that has a stream rushing past the front.  The sound of the stream was very relaxing.  We did a short drive in to the park.  Due to low rainfall and no snow in the area for 4 years, the waterfalls were low. Some river beds were even dry.

But, despite the drought, the park is amazing.

4 Million people visit this park each year.  The entry fee is $15 per person. It is advisable to wear sensible shoes as there are many trails that vary from 1000 ft to 4 miles and longer. (Unlike present company).  This is a wonderful place for hikers, campers, rock climbers, photographers and the like.

David is making the most of every photo opp.

Be warned, the park is cut off from the world. Gas costs $4.47 per gallon, and bottled water $2 per 12oz. Eggs were $7 for a dozen.  Oh and of course cell phone signal does not reach there and Internet at the resortis pricey.

There are beautiful ponds, springs and lakes,  rock faces and meadows throughout the park.

Tomorrow,  Lake Tahoe.
